Summary of 9 Day South Dakota Tour

Yesterday we returned home from our nine day Diamond Bus Tour to South Dakota.  We were in five states and rode over 2,700 mile by bus.
The bus was very nice, very comfortable, equipped with electrical connections and wi-fi.
We spent 8 nights in four very nice motels.  We were fed six very good evening meals in some very nice restaurants.
It was a pleasure to travel with Christian people from several churches in the Pine Bluff area. This meant that every morning began with prayer and we had church services on both Sundays on the bus.
Our sponsors, Cadell and Joyce Welch, from the Family Church in White Hall were great.  They had organized and planned everything really well.  Our bus driver, Wayne was also a great person to get to know.
We were able to see many things that we had only seen on TV or heard about and were able to visit many historical places.  We took many pictures which we have posted over the past 9 days.
It was a very good experience.
The three group pictures below were taken at:
1st at Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, NE
2nd at Crazy Horse Memorial in Crazy Horse, SD
3rd at Mt. Rushmore National Memorial in Keystone, SD
A great group of folks to travel with!

Day 9 - South Dakota Tour

We left the motel in Grain Valley, MO around 8:30.
We had good church service on the bus.  We sang some songs and Cadell brought a brief message and some share things with the group.
Our first rest stop was at Nevada, MO.  Our lunch stop was in Bentonville. AR.   Some ate at Arby's and the rest of us ate at Taco Bell's.
An accident outside of Bentonville slowed us down for a few minutes.  That the only event we had on the entire trip. Also, today was the first we rode in any rain.  At times it was pretty heavy.
Our next stop was at Arkansas Rest Area near Ozark.
After stopping one last time a truck stop in Morriton,  we got to White Hall around 5:15.
We decided to run by Benton before going home.

Day 8 - South Dakota Tour

This morning after a brief devotional by Cadell Welch we left the Sioux Falls motel at 8:30.
Our first rest stop was in Sioux City.  The rest stop next was near Pacific Junction, Iowa for 3 folks.
We then stopped for lunch a few miles down the road at a truck stop/restaurant near Percival, Iowa, just across the Missouri River from Nebraska City, NE.  However they were under construction due to flooding and the restrooms and restaurant were closed. They did have portapotties.
We went on and had lunch a little later at McDonald's in Rock Port, MO.
Our next stop was at the Pony Express National Museum in St. Joseph, MO.  We viewed the many displays there.
Before ending up at the Comfort Inn in Grain Valley, MO, we had supper at the Rib Crib in St. Joseph, MO.
When we leave the motel in the morning we will be 450 miles from home.
